Crime against children

Cases registered against children per lakh of the child population. Kidnapping and abduction, and offences under the POCSO Act, together make up over 80% of the total. The same reporting caveat applies as for crimes against women — POCSO was enacted in 2012 and awareness of it has grown, which lifts the recorded figure independently of the underlying rate.
