Mobile data price

Cable.co.uk's worldwide mobile data pricing study gathers thousands of SIM-only mobile data plans (5,603 plans in 237 countries and territories in the 2023 edition) and reports the median price of 1GB of mobile data in US dollars, ranking countries from cheapest (rank 1) to most expensive. Cheap data matters for India because most Indians go online through mobile phones, so the price of a gigabyte shapes access to digital services. In the 2023 edition India ranked 7th cheapest of 237 countries at USD 0.16 per GB, after ranking cheapest in the world in 2019 and 2020.
