The World Economic Forum's Travel & Tourism Development Index scores economies from 1 (worst) to 7 (best) on the factors and policies that enable sustainable and resilient travel and tourism development, across 17 pillars covering the business environment, infrastructure, natural and cultural resources and sustainability. It measures enabling conditions, not tourist arrivals or receipts. India ranked 31st of 110 economies with a score of 4.42 in the 2026 edition, up from 39th of 119 in 2024.
